Qualified Out of School Hours Care Workers (Relief)

The WA PCYC is seeking casual Qualified Out of School Care Educators to work on a relief basis and assist in the delivery of the Out of School Care Program at Kensington PCYC.

 

Who we are:

Established in Western Australia in 1941, The Federation of Western Australian Police and Community Youth Centres (WA PCYC) is a not-for-profit organisation that creates opportunities for young people through the delivery of two broad youth services: development (intervention) programs and recreational activities.  We manage in excess of 50 PCYC Centres and Blue Light Units throughout metropolitan and regional Western Australia, as well as one camp facility.

 

Position Profile:

PCYC are seeking casual Qualified Out of School Care Educators to work on a relief basis at the Kensington Out of School Care Centre. The role of this position is to assist and lead in the provision of a high quality Out of School Hours Care Program. This position includes routine review and implementation of quality and relevant programs for school aged children.  In this role you will be required to work early morning or afternoon shifts on a relief capacity as well as full days during vacation care.

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Actively supervising school aged children
  • Ensuring all equipment is used in a correct and safe manner
  • Preparing food following safe infection control principles
  • Assisting set-up/pull-down of equipment for activities
  • Participate in the planning and preparation of interesting, educational and fun activities for children and report feedback to supervisor
  • Documenting children’s learning stories and reflective practices

 

To be successful in this role:

  • Cert IV in Out of School Hours Care,  Diploma 4 in Children’s Services/Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent.
  • Experience in supervising within a childcare/OSHC environment.
  • Current Child Care First Aid Certificate
  • Extensive knowledge of childcare industry regulations and legislative requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge of National Network Framework Quality Area’s, Standards and Elements
  • Experience supervising recreational activities, ensuring compliance with OHS regulations
  • Hold( or willing to obtain ) a current National Police Clearance and Working With Children Check
